Congratulations to all the boys (and dads) who built and raced their cars this year! 32 wild and cool cars were entered in the derby this year, and what a fun day! Everyone got to race in 4 'heats', and with the new computerized timing, we could see the results right away on the 'big screen'. Except for a 'racing incident' collision at the finish line which didn't trip the sensor, the new system worked great!

Special thanks to Pete Baganz and HVL for loaning us one of their 'old' PC computers for the race, to Chuck Buege and Jim Heiser for judging the 'Best Design' part of the competition, and to Jay Kempf for leading us in devotion before the race.

In addition, Austin Runkle won the trophy for 1st place overall and Kevin Strauch won the trophy for 'Best Design' with his Krispy Kreme truck called 'The Donut Express'.
